Owing as much to Exploding Hearts as Tom Petty, Nude Beach serve up road trip-ready indie rock with punk edges and blue-collar roots. The trio of singer/guitarist Chuck Betz, drummer/singer Ryan Naideau, and bassist Jimmy Shelton began playing together as high-schoolers in Newport, New York, relocating to Brooklyn and becoming Nude Beach by 2008 (not to be confused with the Philadelphia-based band of the same name, which later re-emerged as Cough Cool).
