Houston Jones are the brainchild of Louisiana native Travis Jones and multi-instrumentalist Glenn Houston, two strong grassroots musicians who became fast friends at the 2001 Strawberry Music Festival. Prior to that, Jones was a singer/songwriter whose intense Hank Williams, Sr. impersonation won him the lead role in the musical version of the songwriter's life, Lost Highway. Meanwhile, Houston was a New Jersey guitarist with a penchant for the blues, a genre that helped him build a following in San Francisco's Bay Area.
