very now and then, a volcano explodes, sending ash into the air, soot into the lungs and lava into nearby villages... it kills all life and demolishes everything in its wake of doom. LAHAR brings that violence to your doorstep. In February of 2003, LAHAR formed from the ashes of two of Seattle's most brutal hardcore bands: Left With Nothing and Contingent. LAHAR is an intelligent and aggressive hardcore-metal hybrid, hellbent on taking over the scene with raw power and making their place in this world as a hard working, take-no-prisoners heavy metal, bone-crushing machine. Forging the apocalyptic breakdowns of modern hardcore and firing-out riffs that would please even the most critical Slayer fan. LAHAR is an American hardcore band. Although fans of the Swedish metal classics and several metalcore bands, LAHAR is not just another Black Metal clone, or a pretty little flash in the pan that can't play without their matching outfits... It's mission is to write the most brutal, demanding, and well thought-out music without abandoning their influences. On stage, Lahar is unmatched in sheer intensity and disciplined showmanship, and brings that energy to recording and relentless touring. A violent landslide of mud flow unleashed by volcanic eruption: this is the definition of a LAHAR, and is an accurate description of who LAHAR is and what will come.
